Our Story

We survived remodel hell. Now we help you avoid it.

Our remodel was supposed to take a few months. It stretched past eight. Delays piled up. Inspections failed. The contractor went quiet for weeks at a time. Change orders appeared out of nowhere. Subcontractors pointed fingers at each other while we stood in the middle, confused and exhausted.

We dealt with permit complications, HOA red tape, and the sinking feeling that we had no idea what was really going on. We weren’t builders — we were homeowners who just wanted our project finished without losing our minds or our savings.

RemodelSuccess.org exists to give homeowners an independent, experienced ally who explains what’s really happening — and what to do next.

My Remodel Story (Why I Built RemodelSuccess.org)

I created RemodelSuccess.org because I experienced a remodel disaster myself. What was supposed to be a straightforward project turned into months of stress, failed inspections, and unexpected structural damage. These photos are from my own home and represent the real challenges homeowners can face.

Foundation Damage From an Incompetent “Licensed” Contractor

This image shows the serious foundation damage discovered after removing the contractor. Despite presenting themselves as “licensed,” the workmanship revealed unskilled labor, improper rebar installation, and structural weaknesses that put the home at risk.

What I Discovered After Firing the First Contractor

Once the contractor was terminated, we uncovered the full extent of the damage, including:
  • Severed post-tension cable stressing the entire slab
  • Cut load-bearing beam affecting the upper floor
  • Incorrect rebar and footing installation
  • Unqualified workers and failed inspections

Why I Built RemodelSuccess.org

After dealing with these issues firsthand, I realized no homeowner should go through this alone. This website exists to help you avoid costly mistakes, find reliable professionals, and protect your home and peace of mind.
